Carlin's Cottage Court

Carlin's Cottages is a slightly hidden gem in Calistoga. We were on a road trip with two small dogs and meeting family - this was perfect location to meet up plus close to dining and shops. We got the family cottage and it was lovely. The bed and accomodations were excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. I recomend staying here if you're in the area. Also they have a heated pool, which I did not plan for but next time I will :)

Yowch! Perhaps the most amazing stay in my recent life! Positives: Re-done motel charm. Most tiles stuck to the wall/floor. Unique high gloss paint in all rooms. Some window seals not pushed into the window pane. A/C only blows cold air on the bed half the time. Management may be unpleasant but not present 99% of the time. Not so positive: Pool is behind a rotweiler-proof fence, and smells of fish. Lack of towel bar or hooks in room encourages free-form self-expression for towels, suits, yesterday's clothes. Shower curtain which falls off the curtain bar allows for nekked viewing. Shower bar itself allows easy repositioning, e.g. upright in a corner. Neighbor's mariachi band is easily heard until 11pm. Super cute cottages. Very clean. Love the vibe and how quiet it is. We spent the weekend here. Very close to downtown area. Love the bathtub! Friendly staff.

We recently stayed one night, from Saturday to Sunday, at a motel in Calistoga with our family, paying $350 for the stay. While the motel appears to have undergone some updates and generally presents as a clean place, our experience was quite mixed. Upon arrival, we were unfortunately greeted by the unwelcome sight of spiders and roaches inside our room. We attempted to contact the office on Sunday morning before our early departure, but found nobody there. Therefore, we contacted them after our departure and spoke with Matt, who acknowledged the issue, stating they were "aware" and had even had the property sprayed three times in the last month. The old fashioned cut keys surprised me. The easy to pop lock concerned me a bit but there’s a deadbolt. There was one drinking glass, 3 coffee cups and 4 hazy plastic wine glasses in the cupboard. The drinking glass was dirty with stuff stuck on the inside. Two of the coffee cups had dried coffee in them and the other wasn’t clean. Went to the office and they gave me 2 new mugs and glasses. The bathroom counter is tile and had a caulked over spot of black mold adjacent to the sink and the grout was stained and dirty. There is ample black mold at the bottom of the wall tile and the tub. The countertop and tub issues could easily be solved with a spray like Tilex. There was a ring in the toilet bowl as well but that wasn’t nearly as off putting as the dirty drinkware and the moldy tub and s
