Candlewood Suites League City by IHG

This will most likely become our go to hotel on our way to the port of Galveston. Rooms were clean, comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Shower pressure was good and water was hot. Air conditioning worked well. Location was very easy to find and there is a lot around the hotel as far as restaurants, shops, etc.

Positive: The only good, the people were nice, and they had free laundry machines. Negative: Room smelled like a Meth Lab or chemical fire. The blinds did not close to not allow sun in, the bathrooms were terrible. They didnt book the correct room reserved.

The staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. While the hotel seemed quite full during our stay, it was quiet and we felt safe and secure. Our room, bathroom and the entire facility was very clean which was reassuring and added to our feeling of comfort. Some high traffic areas were showing a need for minor repair and/or paint. It wasn't concerning to me, but I did notice and I felt it should be mentioned in a full review.

My wife and I needed a place to stay for 4 days and chose this Candlewood location. The staff was outstanding and the bed comfort was phenomenal. The water pressure was good, in fact, the shower felt like I was standing in front of a pressure washer! There was a mild "scent" but nothing offensive and to be expected in a pet friendly location. Bottom line...... If I needed a place to stay in League City again I would happily stay here

The check in process was unbelievable. The person at the front desk (name unknown, no name tag) made the check in process very unpleasant and unprofessional. She said the computers kept crashing. When asked if she had support that she could call, she replied that her only support had been taken to hospital by ambulance. It was evident that she didn’t seem to understand. The phone was ringing constantly and she could not answer because, “I’m not allowed if people are in front of me.” It was taking so long to register I put my wine on the desk and as she swung the scanner around, the wine went flying, my white shoes are now speckled with a lovely light purple shade. Once up to my room, after about 45 minutes at the desk…my key didn’t work. Once in the room I received a welcome text and
