Candlewood Suites Ft. Lauderdale Airport/Cruise by IHG

The room was clean and very comfortable. It was actually bigger than expected. The airport shuttle was an added bonus and they will also shuttle you to the cruise port for a fee. It was very conveniently located and there is a small mall across the street where you can get your essentials for a quick breakfast to make in your room. There is no pool and there is no onsite restaurant.

We rented a room back in November in preparation for our cruise during spring break. We drove from out of state and didn’t get into our room until 1130 in the evening. When we got to the room is was horrific. Smells on 5th floor like cat or urine. Went to shower and water backs up in tub, when I called mx they said it’s draining! My twins and my niece didn’t shower they were grossed out. The young lady at front desk during the day is super sweet but night shift is not help. Never staying here again or recommending this hotel to anyone.

We checked in on the night of Dec 25th. While the location is convenient to the airport, the room was in an appalling state. Upon entering, we were met with a strong smell of urine. It was clear that the cleaning staff had neglected to clean pet urine from under the bed.||When we alerted the night staff, the front desk attendant’s response was both dismissive and offensive. He claimed he smelled 'curry' instead of urine—a comment that felt pointedly racial given our Indian background. While he eventually acknowledged the smell and sprayed the room, it was ineffective. He told us he had no other rooms and offered a refund if we wanted to find another hotel at midnight, which was not a realistic option.||We were forced to tolerate the smell for the night. Positive: It’s was really close to the airport Negative: The smell was horrible after getting out of the elevator. Smelled like mold and mildew in the room and moisture.

Stayed here as a pre-cursor to our cruise at the Port Everglades Cruise Port because it was only 15-20 minutes away. We used our yearly bonus night and points to book our stay. Check-in & check-out was fast and efficient. The entire staff, including Genesis, who checked us in was very polite, accommodating and greeted us each time we passed through the lobby. Genesis suggested a few dining establishments in the area that were within walking distance as well as a few shopping stores if we needed any last minute items, which were conveniently located across the hey and very much within walking distance. The room was comfortable and had all the immenities that we would expect from an IHG Property. Unlike other IHG Properties this one did not have complimentary breakfast. Shuttle service is
