Canal Side Guest House

Me and my girlfriend had an amazing weekend here. The owner was friendly, informative and kind. The rooms are well appointed. They even have it downstairs pinball machine and shooter game that guests can use. Perfect guest house for white water enthusiast. Very close to the Lehigh River.

Canal Side Guest House is a great place to stay if you're bicycling the D&L Trail, kayaking or rafting the Lehigh River, or just sightseeing around Jim Thorpe. The owners are very friendly and fun to be around, happy to answer your questions about the area, and flexible about shuttling you and your gear wherever you need to go. The property is decorated with fascinating antiques, including some still-functioning old arcade games. My father, my son and I spent a terrific weekend here and look forward to coming back!

Rod and Jennifer are the most perfect hosts! Their canal home is beautiful and perfectly situated right off the D&L for bikers/hikers. They are super friendly, flexible, knowledgeable and generous. I got some late night, post-ride ice cream and great conversation as a bonus. The bicycle room that I stayed in is charming and cozy. Jennifer was kind enough to give me a ride to my car 30 miles up the trail so I could have more flexibility the next day. I can’t wait to return!

This place was WONDERFUL. Super clean. Great hosts. Charming accommodations. Awesome rates. This was a great place for my best friend and i to stay. We were watching a movie fest over at the mahoning drive in and we didn't really want to camp out on the grounds. So we reserved this place. We got a spacious room with two twins and a little love seat (called the Bicycle room). Right off the canal. The amenities were very cool and I would love to come back here again. The only downside is the parking - which is no one's fault, it's just a tight area right up on a curvy road, so it's a little dicey getting in and out, but it wasn't terrible. The old canal house is very cool and lovingly restored. What a cool space. There are 2.5 baths - so do keep in mind the bathrooms are shared among the 3

Over the past several years I have had the pleasure of staying at the Canalside Guest House whenever we visit the Jim Thorpe area for outdoor activities. Each stay has been a warm, welcoming and accommodating experience. Our host Rod is always friendly and helpful.
