Camp Rotary Boy Scout Camp

This camp has been completely turned around since the arrival of the new Ranger John and the team of volunteers that really cleaned up the place! The water is now double filtered with no sulfur odor and tastes great. We had the pleasure of utilizing the entire lighted pavilion and it's 12 brand new picnic tables for teaching Camping 101 to 14 of our 21 newly crossed over girls. We even had a flag and flagpole to teach proper flag raising. Such a luxury to have so much space. The girls used one side of the pavilion for cooking and KP duty, and the other for eating and instructing. We had a HUGE fire pit at sites 10 & 11 with plenty of firewood. Plenty of room for instructional axyard. 4 clean bathrooms/2showers very close by fully stocked with TP, papertowels, newly installed shelves. The w

Nice small BSA campground but was the most neglected of any location we've been to. The "Ranger" left much to be desired as well. We were told after checking in that the bathrooms supply of TP would not be replaced and to bring our own; four different groups used the same bathrooms that weekend... Our assigned campgrounds 1-2 were good, 3-5 haven't seen maintenance in many a season. Lots of dead trees and the campfire circle was overgrown with 8' thorn bushes. The other sides sites 6-11? looked much better. Still a good campout for the Scouts as always, just know going in.

Camp Rotary is a small Boy Scout camp on a peninsula surrounded by Lake Hartwell . Sunrises and sunsets are amazing to watch on the lake from camp. It is a great place to go camping. Have bug spray with you as there are spiders and other bugs ( it's their home).

Nice camp ground. Drive in can be a little rough so go slow and avoid the holes. Pavilion has service tools, power, and water. Water has a sulfur taste and smell which many will dislike. Best to come with plenty of your own and use the on site spicket for other uses.

Water tastes and smells like rotten eggs, so bring your own unless that’s your kinda thing. Fishing was good though
