Calistoga Spa Hot Springs

Great spot for a family vacation because of all the different pools, kitchenette in room and ideal location next to the main strip. Pools are warm and open late. I had a great time overall, but service definitely did not feel commiserate for the $500 a night price tag. There's a bizarre room cleaning policy where you have to request cleaning the night before and the housecleaners won't do the dishes in the kitchenette. They also refuse to clean the room before 3 pm and act like they are doing you a favor by cleaning it at all!

My two best girlfriends and I had a wonderful stay at Calistoga Spa and Hot Springs! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with mini kitchens. The staff was friendly and helpful, the amenities were excellent, and the hot springs were absolutely delightful and relaxing. The hotel’s central location made it easy to walk almost everywhere, and we’ll definitely be back! We booked The Works spa package, which includes the mud bath and a massage and it was an incredible experience! We had never done a mud bath before and weren’t sure what to expect, but the staff made us feel completely comfortable from start to finish. My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Calistoga Hot Springs for a night on September 11th, and we were extremely disappointed with the experience. We decided to return to Napa Valley and chose this property because it looked nice, and I was excited to try a mud bath for the first time. After a day of wine tasting, we checked in around 5 PM. The room was very small and outdated, but we let that slide since our main purpose was to enjoy the amenities. Since we were only booked for one night, our plan the next day was simple: have a nice breakfast, check out, then relax at the hotel until 1 PM. I usually don't leave lukewarm reviews but this irked me. We have been to the Calistoga Spa many times and have always been quite satisfied, but this year the service seemed lacking. While this will sound like a stupid complaint, I could not get a roll of paper towels. Bear in mind, our room had a kitchenette with 2 plates, 2 glasses, 2 wine glasses, and 2 sets of tableware along with basic cooking utensils, but I could not get a roll of paper towels for 2 napkins. I was told I could "Go to the ladies restroom in the spa and grab a couple paper hand towels from there." When one is paying over $400/night for a room with a kitchenette, you would think a roll of paper towels would be provided.
