Cacaponhideaway

We stayed in the Country Home at the top of the mountain, a double wide that is beautifully furnished with rustic decor. We were there almost a week and loved it. The kitchen is supplied with all the basics you might need...dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, coffeemaker, toaster, stove, refrigerator, etc; The 100 acres are absolutely beautiful. We were there in middle October when all the leaves were in gorgeous colors. The drive from the main road took you on a dirt road adventure to twists and climbs past ravines and woods. It was great! We also saw deer almost every day. The owners are also wonderful and friendly people.

My family visited this campground the day after a big storm so we had the place to ourselves, which probably added to the magical quality of the campground. The sites are large and the setting is breathtaking. There is a playground, a horseshoe area and a badminton net. Little touches like bird feeders are found throughout the campground. It is a primitive campground, there is no running water, only port-a-potties and hand washing water, however this really only adds to the experience. Just be sure to bring plenty of drinking and cooking water with you. The owner was very friendly and delivered wood right to our site.

Went camping this weekend. They have 6 sites and are growing. The sites are primative. The guy, may have been the owner, met us and was very friendly. He showed us the sites personally and we chose. A whopping $15/night plus tax...there was a firepit and a wash station and porta-potty. In the woods, secluded. The leaves were goregeous. We slept well, and it's nearby to Berkeley Springs,which we went into for the evening.||||They also have firewood onsite ($1 a bundle) so that was great. I'd reccomend it to anyone. The drive from Great Cacapon to Berkeley Springs was beautiful too and only took about 15-20 minutes.

Great campground with portapotties and handwashing stations. Charlie and Sandy are lovely hosts.
