“Beautiful Campground, Poorly Managed Policies” Dear future campers, I highly recommend reading this before booking at Bull Run Campground. First, the positives: The layout of the sites is very convenient, especially with the water/sewer hookups arranged in a U-shape that makes pulling in and out extremely easy. The campground is open year-round and is located near several great attractions, including a waterpark, a sport shooting range, and a Christmas light drive-through (though unfortunately, campers don’t receive any discount for that). Now, the downsides: My biggest complaint is the strict two-vehicle maximum per site. While I can understand having a limit, it becomes extremely frustrating when the campground provides no designated guest parking areas. Camping is often better with
If you have PTSD or have nervous kids/pets stay away. The campground is beautiful BUT there is non stop gun fire going on all day starting quite early. It completely removes the quiet one looks for when camping. We couldn’t sit outside and enjoy the woods during our stay and will probably not return. What a waste of some beautiful land.
Its a nice clean campground but whyyy do they have construction at 6:30-7am every morning? I woke up to dump trucks dumping material shaking the ground like an earthquake every morning. They said it was for the holiday lights tour but 6am is not even legal to have loud construction noise in viriginia let alone at a campground charging 70$ for full hookup and $25 dump fee. I dont recommend unless you can sleep through an earthquake. If you run the campground and you read this maybe lookup the noise ordinance locally before you start a project 🤔
The trip started off great until someone was walking around our tent at 3am in the morning. I went out to investigate and the person must have hide in the woods. He came back after I went back in the tent. Me and my girlfriend went out together to see who it was and the vehicle was parked 2 campsites down from us. We called the camp police and we got no response. After the sun came up we saw the work men and stopped them and told them what happened. They went down to look at the campsite. The vehicle was parked at the bath house. We left that same day. Also dog poop was smeared on my vehicle. Took me 2 days to get the smell off my car. I will not go back to that Bull Run to camp again but I will try other campsites because it really started off a great time. We lost a day of camping, th
This campground is amazing. GIANT secluded sides, huge playground for the kids, close to DC. I genuinely do not understand how we were able to get a spot, over a weekend, in such short notice. Everything is new, and nice, and clean. Really great campground. The kids loved the playground. If we’re ever in this area again this is the top of the list for us.
