Buckhorn on Caribou Lake

We have stayed in Cabin #4 or #5 for every deer season for the last 5 years. We come down from Alaska and look forward to our trip every year. We really enjoy the cabin and all of it's amenities. When we are not out hunting, we have been able to go canoeing, watch the northern lights, and visited friends and family in and around Grand Rapids. Peg and Tim are great hosts and very responsive to any needs that have arisen during our stays. The cabins are beautiful, and the lake views are impressive, such a great place! We wish we could live there!

We had a great stay in cabin 7 and on the lake swimming and fishing. I was worried we might not catch any due to someone else's comment about no fish, but we caught many. We would definitely return!

This is our second trip within 6 months! The first time we made it there we booked it right away for the Presidents' Day! It is an incredible place, very special. We go there as a large group with tons of kids and adults and everybody always have tons of fun! It is nice to work with the owner - Peggy makes it as if you are staying at her house vs. resort. She is very nice, houses are always clean, rates are very affordable and of course - THE VIEW! lakes... rolling hills, SILENCE! I have not heard silence before in my life - it was a bit scary at first. and at night - milky way, TONS of stars! I remember my thoughts in the evening on the deck "it looks like an incredible painting"! I highly recommend. Because of this place - our group of close friends created an annual tradition!

Stayed in cabin 7, wow! A beautiful log house! Peggy was wonderful to work with and it great to hear some stories about the resort and how her husband and her built some of the cabins. We enjoyed, bonfire, some fishing (w/no luck though lol), the sauna was great, views of lake and minimal wildlife. So worth it, just wish we has more than 3-1/2 days to stay.

We spent a week up here with the family for the first time, overall the experience was pretty good. However the cabin is getting a little bit tired and you can kind of feel it. Such a beautiful log cabin in such a beautiful setting. They really could use a little love and updating to keep them shining for years to come. If you’re looking for that quintessential Northwoods log cabin in a nice lake setting where you’re not on top of your neighbors, this is the place for you. Some additional attention to details such as closet doors coming off, provided charcoal grills with rusted nonfunctional vents, just little miscellaneous things could really go along way.
