Bluebird Motel

The rooms weren’t horrible, but the owner is absolutely horrible. Only problem with the rooms was the water went from Scolding hot to ice cold every couple seconds. Toilet doesn’t flush well. Owner was aware we were paying weekly to stay here since we had just moved from another state. I have an 11 month old daughter. The Buffalo Bills are playing at home tomorrow and I repeatedly asked him if everything was OK for us to still stay unless he had reservations he said no that he had no reservations. Now the day before the Buffalo Bills game, he knocks at my door and tells me to pack my things up with my daughter and then I need to find another place to say because he got better prices from a fan that’s going to the game. DO NOT STAY HERE

This is one of the best value motels in the area. I have stayed many places around the country and not to many are this comfy. They have great selection of cable stations & free wireless, and they are in a nice quiet part of town. Very nice personal touch, you can tell they care by how nice and clean and fresh everything is kept. Would recommend to anybody!

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. If you want a hotel close to the water and to downtown Lake Placid shops, this place is fine. Other than that: It is very overpriced for what you get-no maid service, no new towels, still renovating so it's in rough shape. The hotel bar does not open until 5pm, so no mid-afternoon drink available on site. I was sitting in the main area with my own beer which I purchased at the grocery store, and was told by the bartender that I had to leave-I could only drink alcohol that was purchased on-site. No other hotel I have ever been to has this rule. In the morning, coffee is not available to 0730, if you get up earlier, there is no one around at all-and no coffee. One morning, there's no cream for the coffee. You get the picture-very

BEWARE!! We were coming from NC for a funeral and reserved a room online a week before our trip. We gave our credit card info and received a confirmation for the dates. When we got there around 9pm the sign said no vacancy. I was relieved we had a reservation. The owner/operator met us at the door and when I told him we had a reservation, he said "we don't do obline reservations, if you look we haven't done them for years!" The website is live and working and when I pointed that out he admitted that he can't use it because he doesn't know the password! Said he has this problem all of the time, that we shouldn't be charged and if we are, he'll pay us back. So far, no charges have been applied as we canceled online immediately while in the lot. My boyfriend and I were driving by to go to a different motel when we saw this place and decided to see what the rates were. Nice area. The room was nice and cool. Flat screen TV. Clean and comfortable. For the money paid we will definitely go back.
