Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort

Love this hill. We started the day at the Porkies and left after an hour due to no snow. Came back to Powderhorn to find 6” of fresh powder and everyone run open. Skiing was fantastic. Only issue was a chairlift that stopped multiple times and they fixed it. Beautiful chalet and friendly staff. I recommended having pasties on the menu and they thought it was a great idea.

Skiing was phenomenal at Powderhorn. The hill was beautiful- went Dec 27th on a holiday Saturday and longest we waited in line was maybe 2 minutes. Spinning adequate lifts to support the hills capacity needs. Snow was excellent- groomed runs were well maintained and the diversity of green / blue / blacks allowed my older children to be challenged while still having runs for my 8 year old. Front desk service was a bit slow- even making our accounts and photos ahead of time it still took almost a half hour to get our tickets. Went for fish fry the night before skiing- service was great and the food was enjoyable. I’d give the restaurant maybe a 4/5 stars. Family is already talking about returning again next year- and the only complaint was that we didn’t stay for more than 1 day!

I enjoyed my time skiing here, especially due to the fresh snow! The old double chairs are a bummer, and the entire right side of the hill is pretty darn flat, but the middle portion and middle left make up for it! Vertical Drop, Louie’s Chute, and Upper Smoke were top tier and really fun to ski. Bovidae was a ton of fun as well since skiers left was ungroomed and an absolute blast to rip through. Staff were friendly and the chalet was well kept and easy to take breaks in. Caribou is cool with live music, just be warned that you’ll be smelling that high country Michigan air once the boarders show up 😅😏🏂🍀

Stayed at the Czech Inn, great location with ski in ski out on Alpen slope. Home was very nice, resort staff is very friendly. We stayed from Wed night til Sunday morning. Slopes were groomed daily. Excellent variety of difficulty for their slopes. Definitely coming back!
