Best Western Tumwater-Olympia Inn

Good location with restaurants within walking distance. Check-in process was fast, front desk person (I forget his name) was efficient and friendly. I left my phone charger at home and the front desk let me borrow one. Regarding the complimentary breakfast, there was a nice variety of items offered. I had the scrambled eggs, a boiled egg, a bagel with cream cheese, coffee and juice. I've had waffles during a previous stay and they were good too. The food area was clean and spacious. Fresh fruit looked good. Food was fresh and prepared well. No complaints. ||Note-there is no elevator to get to the 2nd floor rooms. However the front desk offers to help guests with their bags at check-in. Room was very clean, bed was comfy. Everything in working order. Not a refurbished or fancy hotel, but

I stayed here for two nights because I was having a hip replacement surgery nearby. The room was incredibly comfortable, and the gentleman at the front desk allowed us to look at multiple rooms to select the one that we thought would be easiest to access for recovery. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the quality of the sheets and selection of pillows was absolutely perfect. I remember waking from my surgery and all I could think about was looking forward to getting back in that bed. We would stay here again.

For the price, the hotel is fine. Not terrible, certainly not great. All amenities are/were not available. One overnight front desk person needs a major attitude adjustment. Housekeeping is not consistent. An investment into plumbing, carpet cleaning, pillows (they are the size of USA throw pillows or the same used Europe), and duvet covers for the comforters (they don't have any).

Positive: The maintenance, front desk, and kitchen staff were so friendly and on top of their jobs all the time. It was impressive to watch the way they work through cleaning the rooms and communication with the front desk. Negative: Depending on what room you are I will depend on the noise level. We were in a room next to two different doors and one was extremely loud with a picnic table outside and the other wasn't nearly as loud.

Our stay at the Best Western was overall decent. The 2nd floor room was clean and well-kept, which I appreciated. The bed, however, was pretty lumpy and not very comfortable, and the TV remote didn’t work, which was a little frustrating. On the bright side, the staff were super nice and helpful, and the continental breakfast was good with a nice selection. A few small improvements could make this a great stay.
