Best Western Port Huron Blue Water Bridge

Rooms were actually not great. We got the non smoking "suite", and keep in mind, I understand it's a best Western so I understand it's not super classy but there were cigarette burns in the drapes, the room smelled of smoke and tar stains on the ceilings. The guy that worked the counter at night was the best though. Super friendly and went out of his way to meet our requests.

The staff were friendly and efficient and even took an interest in me as a person. Free breakfast was varied and plentiful, the coffee good. (Breads, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, juices, yogurt, cereals, waffles, apples) Wifi hassle-free. Clean and smoke-free; did not "smell like Michigan" if you know what I mean, like some other places I've stayed . Pool hours were great, but for time reasons I didn't use it. Worst I can say? microwave didn't work at first because it was on an extender that got knocked loose from the wall, and the facial tissue box was empty. Big deal. Would return; would recommend.

Unfortunately the hallway smelled of cigarette and marijuana smoke. The room had tiny bugs all over the sink… probably elsewhere too. Only able to see them because the sink was white. As we were leaving there was someone trying to open every door in the hallway that looked homeless. He exited the building when we saw him.

We recently stayed at this hotel, older hotel that is being renovated. Our room was very clean, staff went above and beyond to make sure we were pleased with our room, they called to make sure our room was satisfactory! We arrived early as we were attending a wedding and were allowed to check in early, and even received a room upgrade! The included breakfast was real food (eggs, pancakes, waffles and sausage)! Kuddos to Veronica who was working on her birthday and checked us in! We would definitely stay at this hotel again!
