Best Western Ottumwa Inn & Suites

We stayed at the Best Western Inn & Suites Ottumwa from December 8 to December 27, and the service was excellent. We traveled as a family of three with a young child, and our needs were always taken seriously. Whenever we had a request or a suggestion, the staff reacted quickly and kindly. Overall, it was a very positive experience. We felt comfortable and welcome, almost like at home. The management was always helpful and supportive within their possibilities, and it was clear that good customer service is very important to them. We would be happy to stay there again and can definitely recommend this hotel.

Positive: Staff was very friendly and the ease of the check-in and check-out was good. Negative: The water pressure in the rooms was very bad, it took 25 minutes just to fill the bath-tub halfway with water to take a bath and very bad insulation between rooms as I could hear the television from the room next door.

My stay was made even better by to standout features: the breakfast and the seamless checkout process. Breakfast each morning was fresh, well-stocked , and offered a great variety to choose from. Whether it was something light and healthy or a heartier option, there was always something satisfying. The staff attending breakfast were attentive and kept everything clean and replenished., which made our stay that much more enjoyable. Checkout was just as impressive – quick, easy, and hassle free. The staff handled everything smoothly and I appreciate no having to wait and deal with any complications. If I could give this place a 0 I would. I would never recommend. The location is sketchy. Still close to things but very sketchy. The pool was ok. My child got out with the stairs and as soon as he turned left he slipped. The edge of the tile is facing outward and not flush with pool that my kid cut the side of his toe bad that it was fishing blood. The front desk girl had no idea where hydrogen peroxide was or if they had any and there first aid kit was not checked they like it was supposed to even though it showed it was. Says the manager. The hotel supposedly just got renovated a yr ago. I call it just mascara and lipstick over stuff wrong. It smells horribly bad in hallways and the rooms are damp and smell moldy. Our sheets were gross and had to ask the front desk again for new sheets

One of the things that impressed me the most during my stay was the outstanding cleanliness of the entire property. From the lobby to the hallways and especially the guest rooms, everything was spotless and well maintained. You can immediately tell that the housekeeping teams take great pride in their work. My room was fresh, tidy, and perfectly prepared each day by the amazing housekeeper, Dhiru. Fresh towels every day, amenities were replenished, and the attention to detail was clear – every corner was cared for and my toilet paper had a stamp on it.
