Best Western El Rancho Palacio

I did not expect such a great stay from an older Best Western. Loved the pleasant, polite welcome and checkin, the cleanliness, loved the old courtyard style, large rooms, super clean breakfast space, drive up to room parking. This stay exceeded my expectations and I have stayed in hundreds if not thousands of hotel rooms. We come through Roswell once a year and we will definitely stay here from now on. We have tried many of the others and this was the best.

Though not a new Best Western this property is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. No smells, no mold, maintained. The rooms are fairly large and quiet. The furniture is in very good condition. The linens are ok, we would have like heavier blanket a it did turn cold during our stay. The people at the desk are exceptionally polite and efficient. We took a first floor drive up and that was super convenient. ||I made my own coffee this time though there is a coffee maker in room and coffee available in breakfast room. Breakfast was modest but well displayed. Again kudos for cleanliness. Eggs, cereals. Sausage, breads, waffles, green chili, toppings for oatmeal and a yogurt machine. The yogurt is unfortunately sugared as I would have liked to try it. ||Thank you to the man

After spending all day getting sandblasted at the wind farm and the Truckstop that has no showers, I decided to book a room here. They have one spot for a truck and that night it was open. It looks like they are doing some updates to the property so I was give a room on the second floor. Eww to the second floor but it was right by the stairs and it was quite all night long. The room was large, nice size TV, and the bathroom was nice and adequate and good water pressure for the shower. Plenty of restaurant in walking distance but opted for a pizza because I was beat and just wanted to get clean and good night sleep. Staff was friendly and helpful from the phone call asking about truck parking, to check in. If in the area again for that crazy wind farm, I'll will stay again. I hope i g

The room was clean, however the refrigerator was extremely loud and did not cool my food. Woke me up almost every time it turned on. The heater also had a hard time heating the room above 70. There was no comforter and only two small blankets so it was very cold at night. The ice machine didn't work. Shower didn't get as hot as I would like. I asked the desk clerk for an easily accessible room since I was hunting and had a lot of equipment to bring in. He gave me the very furthest room on the second floor so I had to walk through an ice patch in the parking lot and take the stairs. The motel was almost empty so I'm not sure why he did this. I just don't think he was listening. I won't stay here again. The room was clean, but not worth the non refundable price I paid.

Positive: The breakfast was good and fresh Negative: The pillows were so small was not comfortable and they only provided 2 towels which were small as well. Also the towels looked dirty been over used.
