Belmont Inn

Very close to centre, beautiful old historic building with plenty of quirks. Beds were comfy. We were alone in the Inn so it was quiet but I can imagine it being noisy if other rooms were occupied due to the creaky floorboards and doors. So if ur a light sleeper I'd recommend ear plugs. Great supply of towels and face clothes. Breakfast was limited but sufficient and we were very happy with the gf waffles in the freezer. Porch rocking chair ans swing were so nice to relax on, if only the mosquitos stayed away, use bug spray it sitting out. I also enjoyed watching the squirrels run up and down the tree in the front garden.

This is a historic place that has been beautifully restored with great attention to detail. The room I was in had the original wood floor and original glass windows. Comfortable bed, beautiful furniture, very clean, and amazing decor. They made check in and out easy. I have been trying to think of how to fully describe this place for the last few weeks and decided words don't do it. If you like history or beautiful things, just stay here! Shelbyville is a neat place to see and it was not a difficult drive to get to the events I came for in Nashville.

We stayed here recently and found the place to be outdated and had the smell of an old book. We had to enter the room through a bathroom. The bathtub area had a black curly hair in it. The bedroom and bathroom seem to need a deep cleaning. It was not a restful night at all.

Please read all the reviews. Keep in mind that a guest disliked the cancelation policy at the Belmont Inn but decided to keep their reservation. The cancellation policy is sent to all guests at the time of reservation. Last-minute reservations are welcomed depending on availability. When a guest reserves a room, it is blocked from all online reservation sites. In the event that guests cancel their reservation, the Belmont Inn credits the nights they are able to reserve another guest in their place. However, there are no guarantees. It was very clean, and safe. I checked in late, with no issues. It is located in the town where the walking horse celebration is held. So the decor of the hotel is horse-themed.||The ADA room just has a shower chair, which does not fit very well in the tub though.
