We've been coming here for two years and its steadily gone down hill. When we found it, it was free with a discover pass and a great little tucked away spot to hide for a week by the river. Over the course of the last year or two its become the haven for druggies and homeless who trash the sites, destroy the outhouse and fight or sell/buy drugs. It makes it less desirable for us to stay. Still free with a discover pass, with firefings, picnic tables and two vault toilets. Bring water.
Looks like a nice campground but didn't stay, just drove through. See pics. Check the DNR site for camping info. They look like nice campsites with a few right on the river. Olympic Otter
Nice, convenient campground right off the 101 but we heard very little traffic noise. Free with Discover Pass. Sites were very secluded, limited sun so we didn't get much from our solar panels but I'd definitely stay again. Sol Duc river runs right by the camp with a trail running alongside, very nice and the little diner right outside the entrance was great. Toilets were pit toilets so not the greatest but for free in a beautiful setting can't complain too much.
I like this place. One thing to point out is if you are wanting complete solitude of hearing no cars, this place would not be for you. This sits right off highway 101. There are 16 campsites. They very in sizes. Not all have picnic benches. Some sites are ADA. This campsite has pit toilets and no potable water. There are some sites that would fit a pop up trailer or a small RV, and a small trailer. No big 5th wheels for sure. The pit toilets are less then attractive, there is some black mold on the side walls that are wood. That didn't bother us. There are a couple of trails that leed down to the Sol Duc River. When you get to the river its an only look how pretty it is and then head back to your camp. There is nowhere to really just hangout. There are lots of mosquitoes there. There wer
A good DNR camp ground 👌 we stayed due to there being no space at lyer river campground but a good alternative when you need a place to camp.
