The front desk manager was a great guy and provided excellent service, he let us check in early and accepted our dog. The view from the room was incredible! However the room did smell of cigarettes in a non smoking room. That was an easy fix we just left the balcony door open for awhile and it got better. We had a suit so there was a working fridge and microwave as well as a couch(not a pull out) Could tell it was undergoing the process of renovations, the elevator was kinda scary and someone kept smoking on it. The bed was clean and the sheets didn’t smell. The door to our room would stick and our bathroom door had tp shoved in the lock lol. tv worked great and ac also worked But overall it’s a great affordable place to stay if you don’t mind minor flaws.

I don't get the negative reviews unless previous travelers were expecting 5 star hotel and service on a modest budget. It may have been an older hotel, but it had clearly been updated. I'll definitely be booking here on future trips. Bar Harbor was very clean and entire staff were very courteous and accommodating. The location was great and you couldn't ask for a better view of the sunrise. (I am a senior citizen (female) traveling solo and even the maintenance/lawn crew and pool person that came in early everyday always spoke to me and asked me if I was enjoying my stay. The only thing negative that I have to say is there are no coffee pots in the rooms as indicated and during my stay, the coffee in the lobby wasn't working either - the TV didn't work, however, they had maintenance

Positive: The staff were excellent. Negative: Everything is broken. We had no place to put our clothes because the dresser had no drawers. The ceiling leaked. I would classify this place as a dump and not worth any amount to stay. Hotel Hell.

I must say staying here feels like home. The staff are friendly and very respectful.. the rooms are clean no roaches, bedbug, or any type of insets. But aye dont take my word for it COME DOWN TO MYRTLE BEACH SC AND BOOK A ROOM AT BAR HARBOR TRUST ME ITS WORTH IT THANK ME LATER.

Shower water would not drain. Lights turn off in bathroom when you plug anything in and stay off for an hour or more. Toilet was filthy. Flooring moves when you step on it. Microwave dirty. No bed covers. Have to ask for wash clothes and bathmat
