We absolutely loved it here! The area is absolutely stunning. The cabin was nice and we cooked all our meals here, went hiking right outside the property and also drove to the hot springs. It was the perfect holiday getaway. Our pups loved it as well, and it's so nice to be able to bring them on adventures with us.
It's difficult to describe just how beautiful this place is. We've stayed in the fall and winter and regardless of season - it's breathtaking. The accommodations are comfortable, clean, and tie into the setting perfectly. There is no shortage of activities to take part in. Staying at AVR has become one of our family's favorite traditions.
We booked through HipCamp last minute and I am glad they were still able to accommodate us. The drive to the ranch was just beautiful! You’ll pass by a couple of ski resorts and beautiful small towns that are worthy of visiting! The ranch it self was surrounded by water, we booked Camp 24 and it was just perfect for me and my boyfriend and his Sprinter Van. It was also in front of the lake/river so that was a great plus! We didn’t book any rooms so my 5 star rating is for the toilet that was well maintained and cleaned. We arrived after 5pm so there was no one to check us in but we really appreciate the welcome map addressed to me that led us to our campsite. Another 5 star. And lastly, the ranch is just perfect for first timers like us as it was very accessible. There’s a small town 2
This place is beautiful, we went up from Denver to camp and ended up booking a tipi for the experience, the first night was rainy and super cold the tipi was very study, leak free, spacious and had a queen bed that was super comfy with lots of blankets but was bit cold for us as it was 30 degrees. In the morning they were so amazing and let us up grade to a yurt as they are heated. We ended up loving it so much and extended it for an additional night. The ranch is beautiful, the bathrooms/showers were super clean and heated. The staff were awesome and friendly. The little store on site has a lot of stuff and things incase you forget. They have ice and propane on site as well. Trails near by were so pretty we hiked around grand lake and did cascade falls via monarch lake trail head. They d
This is a great Rocky Mountain, off grid, camping experience with the added value of fishing and hiking. Very peaceful and beautiful. We did the glamping tents and that was really comfortable and nice. Definitely plan on fishing and hiking. Bring bottles of air if you are from the flat lands. Plan out your food, drink and preparation items very well in advance. This is absolutely worth the cost and quite an experience. Visit and walk around Monarch Lake! Catch a trout. Eat it for breakfast.
