Recently renovated in the last year, it was great. Rooms were clean. The breakfast options were great. Added bonus was the little bar they have onsite.

We hadn’t stayed here in a few years so we weren’t sure what to expect, but the hotel has been nicely renovated and we had a great stay. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Rita, who managed the breakfast was very kind and kept the lobby looking fresh and clean during our stay. The breakfast was great, with lots of tasty options, including a neat mini pancake machine that was a hit with the kids. If you’re staying at the hotel you get access to the gym next door which was also very nice and clean. Pool area was great for the kids and I really enjoyed the sauna. If you are looking for a place to stay on the iron range, I’d highly recommend the AmericInn in Virginia.

My wife and I needed some place local to get away for a few days. We decided to come to American Inn in Virginia MN. We have stayed in many hotels over a span of 3 years and I would like to say American INN is one of the better ones for a small town. Brittany(front desk) was very accommodating with all of our needs. The lady that does the morning breakfast is superfriendy and the options were great. The room was great and my wife and I even found a room temp that agreed on for sleeping(lol). We ordered a pizza from there freezer and it was AMAZING, also brought right to the room. The bed was surprisingly great for both of us. Which never happens. We had a wonderful time for a local stay. They also have a pool, sauna, and hot tub. The rooms, well the whole building was very clean. The main thing I don’t like about this place is the fact they have no elevator for guests. You have to lug all your stuff up a flight of stairs. I didn’t eat breakfast but my husband did. He says it’s ok. All in all a great place to stay!

We have family in the area and decided for ease to book a hotel for ourselves and two kids. The rooms were clean, stocked and perfect for what we needed. The staff was super friendly and helped us out with anything we needed during our 4 nights. What really stuck out as exemplary was Rita and the morning breakfast. The area was meticulously clean and it was stocked and delicious. My boys LOVED the breakfast! (So did we!) Hot coffee and large variety of choices for meals. You can tell some parts were newly renovated and that was nice. Also a lot of reviews about the train — it really didn’t bother us and I only actually heard it once. Oh and the kids loved the pool too! We will definitely stay here again when we’re home! Thank you all!
