Americas Best Value Inn Tahquamenon Country

Nice hotel. Clean and neat. Basic continental breakfast - would like to have seen some healthy options like breakfast bars or shakes - lots of grab and go options these days that are also easy for the hotel, too, to offer.

Booked for Labor Day weekend this year since we stayed last year and the rooms were clean, price was great, location was convenient for our needs, had a nice pool/jaccuzi and sauna, a decent continental breakfast, and the HOSPITALITY was warm and welcoming. That was then.... Again, I used Booking.com, for a double queen room specifying two queesn beds for up to 4 people. I check in. Parking lot was dang near empty. Get to the room and its a 1 bed handicap accessible. That won't fit my husband and two teen sons. Smelled like smoke. When I explained the mistake to the front desk, they were argumentative, and blamed on me for booking "the wrong kind of room". I showed them the reservation that said two beds, up to 4 ppl, explaining its the same room I booked 1 year ago. She said "you only put

Positive: "" Negative: Breakfast was just ok. Most of the items were out and when inquiring about more, we were told they were out and “it is what it is.” Coffee ran out and we were told there was no more. Manager had not ordered more.

Front desk service was amazing! We had a challenging situation with our reservation when checking in. It was not the fault of the Tahquamenon Inn but the front desk attendant Kathy went above and beyond to help us and was able to solve the issue and get us s great room. The room was excellent and so was the pool, hot tub, and sauna. Easy drive up to the falls and whitefish point.

I liked that the hotel was a bit out of town. It was convenient for my dog, with ample room for her to run behind the property. Unfortunately, I chose ABVI because they said they had a sauna. I called twice, once prior to making the reservation and once when I confirmed, to check that the sauna worked and was assured it did. Long story short, the sauna would not get hotter than 34 C (about 91 F) after preheating for two hours. Ideally, it should be twice that temperature. The sauna was the whole reason I chose ABVI and it was pointless. The room was subpar. One light fixture was missing a lightbulb; a light switch did absolutely nothing I could discern; maybe it controlled the missing bulb?? j/k the bulb was missing from a table lamp. The room came with two small bath towels and one wash
