Americas Best Value Inn Edenton

Let's be realistic about this place. I hope I can make sense of some of the reviews. It cost half the price of other options that I had for staying in edenton but when I read the reviews people were pretty scathing about it was dirty and other things like that. I did not find it dirty however it does need to be remodeled and updated and it's to that point where things have that faded stained look. So if you're looking for a cutting edge hotel top of the line you're going to pay for it and this is not the place. Again, however, they're in the process of upgrading and doing the improvements. I had a gigantic brand new TV matter of fact the box was still in the lobby the toilet had been obviously replaced with a very nice one. So I talked to the girl at the front desk and she confirmed that

Positive: Sadly there was no positive take away other than the door locks functioned properly Negative: The general cleanliness and upkeep was horrible. The entire property either needs to be heavily renovated or torn down. The outdated popcorn ceiling was covered in flys and mosquitos that happened to make it past the spider webs that were hanging inside

Needed a wheelchair accessible room. They gave us the wrong room, heat didnt work, hot water wasnt working and it wasn't clean. Housekeeper was very rude !!

This was by far the WORST place I have ever stayed. The room was full of old furniture, smelled musty and there was trash in the bedside table. The bathroom smelled of urine and the shower did not work because the mechanism on the tub spout was frozen shut. Don't let the price or the pictures entice you to stay there. It was disgusting. I originally booked for two days but left the very next morning at 6:30 am. I was not offered a refund on the second night. Just awful!

The room was clean. The lady working the desk was very nice. We were very disappointed that the pool wasn’t open because “the manager was out of town and it needed vacuumed” or some such nonsense. The lady at the desk hadn’t been informed. She should have known and told us at check in. Wasn’t her fault.
