American Classic Motor Inn

Nice remodeled hotel, clean. Couple things that were lacking though. AC unit looks like the filter has never been cleaned. I took it out and brought it up to the manager and she said she’d talk to maintenance. Never heard back. Bath fan also caked in dust. Shower wouldn’t drain, you’d have about 15 minutes till it over flowed the curb. The tile was nice though. Haha hate to leave a somewhat negative review but the dust stuff is where I draw the line.

😊: Friendly staff. Got a slightly early check-in. Nice touches with some classic styling, e.g fridge and tissue dispenser!. 😢: Location was a little out from the centre of Salida, about a 10 minute walk to a selection of restaurants, (including a decent Nepalese cafe).

we love finding retro motels when traveling. We’ve discovered some true gems But this was not one of them. To begin with there is not an office and at check in they use a drive up window which is cute but awkward since the microphone didn’t work well. And there is limited hours for the staff to be in their little spot. The rooms were cute but very small and crowded. There’s too much stuff in the room. Housekeeping had sprayed way too much room deodorizer and we had to leave door open to clear it out. Bed was okay but wasn’t a fan of the sherpa style blanket. During our stay we had to replace batteries in the remote and fix the heating controls in the bathroom. Next morning the coffee pot was not working and sprayed hot water all over. Wonderful place, glad we stayed here! The decor was a blast from the past. We really enjoyed the trip down memory lane. They managed to cover even little details in making this a comfortable nights stay. We were very pleased with the Inn and will gladly stay again. I don’t understand why several reviews just focus negatively on a 10 am checkout.

This was our first time staying at American Classic. First and foremost was the cleanliness. I am always aware in my travels of the details in cleaning a room. This was so clean!!! From the shower to inside the kitchenette fridge, I was impressed. Bed was comfy and loved the feel of the decor. My girlfriend and I love getting out of town all the time and we will definitely be staying here again. She was equally impressed. Thank you.
