Alaska Luxury Adventures, Second Star

Due to little or no communication and management not reimbursing for airfare, they get one star, not a second star. The house was decent but could use better maintenance. The chef was amazing and without his skills and friendliness it would have been even worse.|The booking of excursions was handled badly and we didn’t know what we’d get until just before checking in. The house is for sale and it’s clear this shouldn’t be run by those who were in command this summer.|Even though the views out back are great, the house is in an industrial area that’s noisy often.|Not worth the money when there are excellent lodges in Alaska that can deliver a better experience.

It's a decent manison but in an industrial area. The views from the backside of the house are good. The management is bad and often non-existent. Due to the trouble with management before arrival, during our visit, and afterwards, stay away. The chef was a bright spot in stay. There are so many excellent lodging choices in Alaska, I recommend searching further. The house is for sale and I think the owners/management want out of it as they don't run it well at all.

So many things about this place are beautiful, magical, and amazing. We planned our wedding here and had about 20 of our family, guests stay here. Worked with their staff out of season, in October. The ceremony went smooth and guests had a mostly enjoyable experiences. The caterer and bartender had plenty of space to prep and serve. The ceremony was outdoors and guests had a great view! I made sure to text and email as each of these issues came up. She responded quickly and came over, but never followed up other than to apologize. Unfortunate events made the wedding theme of "haunted mansion" come true: 1) The ceiling leaked from the Neverland room down into the nautical room. BEWARE!||||Terrible management,cleaning and grounds crew||||My family stayed there with a wedding party a couple weekends ago.||||Lawn was overgrown the night before the wedding, the guests at the house mowed and raked the grass, even after the maintenance guy stopped by, who never offered to do it himself, no trimmer/weed whip.||||4 kids cut their feet on a sharp drain in the pool, one getting a staff infection.||||Hot tub had cigar ash where a cigar was put out from the guests before. All the pool and hot tub water smelled terrible.||||If your having a wedding reception, expect a phone call at 10pm to shut your music off while having a dance out on the deck.||||To top it off management kept the bride and grooms deposit on a bunch of false accusations.||||Never an apology or explanation f

I spent 3 wonderful days with some fun ladies. This place is so nice! Comfy beds in beautifully, richly decorated rooms. I had the Bishop Creek room. I woke up to views of Kachemak Bay each morning. This beautiful mansion is like no other place you will ever stay. I just can't say enough.
