Al & Sally's Motel

Positive: Convenient. Price Negative: It needs a closet of some sort or at least something to hang clothes on. Some of the electrical outlets didn’t work. There was no electrical outlets in the Bathroom there fore the hair dryer could not be used in front of a mirror. There no extrmirrors.

Loudly place to stay. We were there in November 2025. The only heat for the room was a space heater and it was VERY cold. Then the power went off. As senior citizens, we can't afford to get sick. We called saying we needed to find another place to stay and we were told our TOTAL amount paid would be refunded. We just got our bill and we were charged a full night... me and you, we were only there 3 hours.

What a gem. An oasis in an industrial desert. I was looking for a hotel as I was passing through the area for work and found this quaint older motel that has achieved a full bevy of upgrades. It is well maintained, clean, warm (it was snowing when I arrived and below zero), great use of space. I will definitely be back here. The whole region is industrial and I greatly appreciate the standard that this motel has set for the genre of hotels. Staff was great to work with, too. I spoke with Deanna, she handled everything for me in minutes. Please do yourself a favor and make this a stop on any excursion moving through this area. This motel was super nice, really clean, and decorated well. The coffee was delicious, and the bedding was so cozy. The bed was super soft and comfy too. We had a great night! This motel definitely gives you more than you'd expect for the price. Totally worth the money. We'll be booking here again!

A small, charmingly decorated motel on the edge of Indiana Dunes National Park. All the rooms are individually designed in a 1950s style, quite spacious, and comfortable. Our room was clean and offered all the amenities we needed. We appreciated the remote check-in and the convenience of being able to park right outside our door and go straight to our room. There was a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a Keurig coffee maker. Outside, there's a cozy seating area, and in the backyard, there's a children's playground and picnic tables under trees decorated with string lights. Unfortunately, the doors and windows are a bit thin, so you can clearly hear the passing trains and cars. With earplugs, however, it's quiet enough.
