1848 Inn

I stayed at the 1848 Inn for a two-night concert at the Bank of NH Pavilion and enjoyed my stay immensely. I rented a cottage which was perfect for two people. The AC was a nice touch and it was nice to have TV for our down time. The bathroom/shower were wonderful as well. We used one of the outdoor grills to make steak tips and brought pasta salad, the fridge was the perfect size for two nights, and the grill worked perfectly! We loved relaxing on the porch in the AM/PM as well as the pool. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves even though there were 100% others around us. Everyone was kind and polite and made us feel welcome. Great location, just up the road from the lake. We thought they were great owners! Pool was very clean. Quiet and comfortable. 15 was a cute cabin with a private porch to enjoy your evenings on.

We booked through Priceline. We were attending a wedding, and the shuttle bus to the wedding location left at 1 p.m. while check-in for the hotel was at 4, so we didn't get to the hotel until later in the evening. However, the hotel cancelled our reservation, so when we arrived (before the 9 p.m. cut-off), no one was in the office, and we didn't have a room and had to drive more than two hours to get home. We were charged anyway and did not get a refund.

Reviews that give a poor raring obviously don't know what they were signing up for. Please folks, do your homework before you book something! This place has all the local New England family charm. We stayed in a cabin and the price was perfect for our two day stay. The hosts were kind and had great recommendations for food and things to do. Our unit was clean and had recently been updated, the furniture was new and the bed was comfortable. The hot water was great in the shower and the pressure was OK for it being a cabin. The mini fridge was a fridge and freezer, no microwave however. Access to charcoal grills for cooking. We did not swim but the pool looked clean. We would definitely book here again.

Stayed in the motel portion of the property and the room was recently updated and very clean. The owners Brooke and DJ are amazing and super friendly and very accommodating. Will definitely be back!! A perfect New England getaway.
