Yurt 737 at Bluegreen Vacations Shenandoah Crossing

I'm not an outdoorsy person, so I was on high alert...lol. I did not like having to fight ants and spiders of all sizes. Then, a big lizard managed to make it's way inside. I was tapped out and ready to go after that. For someone that likes camping, they may enjoy their stay. This was a first and last for me in a Yurt. On a positive note, it is clean and well-kept.

I loved it, the glass tile shower, the beautiful copper vessel sink, stainless steel appliances, the ambiance was all romantic and amazing. We listened to the rain tap on the roof in the evening, and although it was cold, we had a wonderful walk around the property. I loved the coffee maker so much that I bought one when I got home.

Wife and I absolutely love this yurt! It's on the end with only 1 neighboring yurt and otherwise surrounded by trees and forest so seems secluded, very private feel, and not a lot of neighboring noise (yurts let sound through easily so an end unit is really nice). Wrap-around wooden balcony with gas grill and outdoor sink & prep area for grilling. Yurt itself is beautiful inside with everything we need/want. Big walk-in tiled shower, 2 beds in separate bedrooms (1 super comfortable king and a smaller full). Only the 2 of us this trip so plenty of space for 2 (we used the 2nd bedroom for our suitcases, clothes, changing, etc). Kitchen, fridge, oven, etc. Nicely heated. Currently staying in a Yurt, woke up to the sound of bugs flying into the yurt canvas. Come to find out they are trapt inside and look like flying cockroaches, to be expected in a wooded environment. Underneath the beds have not been cleaned, very dusty and some debris from previous guests. Caution to love birds and newlyweds, the yurts are not sound proof! Can hear neighboring guest muffled conversations and TV. Overall, still and interesting experience.

Yurt is a unique experience, but I think the cabin is more practical for the family. And the cabin is less points. But I'm glad we tried the Yurt once.
