There are 6 cottages, all with old rustic charm. Some maintenance updates do need to be made to the outsides of the buildings. There is a lot of wood rot. Inside is maintained a little better. It is obvious a repair was made to the ceiling of the cabin I stayed in, but they didn't bother to paint the new drywall that was put in. ||On the positive side, you don't need to pack as much when you go "camping" here. The cabins have 2 bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. Pillows and bedding included. The kitchens have plates, cups and cookware for you to use as well. Nothing matches, but then, you're camping, what can you expect. ||The view of the lake is spectacular, and they have built an amazing patio with enough room for guests in all 6 cabins to enjoy the view in the morning or evening. Very clean cabins right on the lake. Huge deck across lakefront with seating areas to watch the sunrise & freighters go by. You have to bring your own towels to shower but everything else provided. There is a coffee pot YES! Rooms are small in 4, 5, & 6 on the beach side while 1, 2 & 3 is on grass side they have larger living room, kitchen area. That side is private because of tall wood fence. I have seen a bad revive on here & it must have been somewhere else they stayed & mixed them up because it is definitely not here. If your idea of a cabin is a full blown summer home for your rich tastes this is not for you. It’s a northern cabin to sleep in & have a place to go if weather doesn’t cooperate. There is so much more to do outside so an Airbnb would be more your uppity style if you are l

Went here with family a couple summers in a row, but cabins are extremely run down and filthy. Check in typically begins an hour or two after posted check in time as the cabins are supposedly being "cleaned", no discount offered for late check-in. Always an issue, stoves don't work or are smoking, sticky floors, dirty couches, fridges don't work, floors are caving in, smoke detectors and CO2 detectors are broken half the time. Molded wood and some windows don't even close. The ONLY benefit about Woodland Beach is the nice deck and beautiful view of Lake Huron. I will never be staying here again as the cabins are rotting, disgustingly dirty, and besides the view it's always a horrible experience. An acquaintance recently stayed in cabin 3 and found a rat nest under the bed, and despite this

Always a great time but now have not been back in a couple years after Rats nest found under dresser in cabin 3 my dad said and I also said the peeling wood outside the cabin facing the lake which can be easily repaired very quickly and painted that there was going to be a mice or Rats problem or a bug's nest. Plus there's always plumbing issues stinky and cottages need much better attention inside and out a great crew could have this place looking great easily Cmon fix the issues quit losing great business from old repeat customers.

Location and owners were great. Cottage was nice but you can tell most repairs were cobbled. The door was dry rotted and the wood was all split. Had a real hard time getting inside and out, along with locking it. The small window in the door was broken and it was duck taped. There was a piece of 2x4 jammed in the door jam just to get the door to latch. The shower had quite a bit of mold in it so I didn't even take a shower bcuz it grossed me out. 🤣. Beds were GREAT. Had to run the hot water for 5 minutes and even then it was only warm. I could hear the waves crashing on shore even with the windows closed which I loved. Great view since I was in Cabin 4, right at the end close to the lake. Great view
