Tawas Point Campground

Beautiful facility surrounded by water. Several beaches available and restroom pavilion available for rent. First time using potable water. 2 dump stations, easy to use. Dog friendly but leashes required. Not all dog owners picked up after their pooches so watch where you step. Dogs acted up but all was calm during quiet time. Paved bike trails to the lighthouse. Gift shop and tours available. Campers friendly. We met people from our former town in Florida as well as a couple we know from our hometown in Michigan. Water is shallow and great for shuffling through the shoreline. Windy during our visit but quite peaceful. Bird watching area near the lighthouse. Office staff friendly and helpful.

Great State park! Beautiful point on Lake Huron with a sunrise side, a sunset side, lighthouse, and serenity.

I love this campground because of its proximity to water/beach/bay. There are beautiful sites right on the lake. The bathrooms are clean. The campground is well maintained. There is playground. The beach is fairly small but the shore is long and it’s never over crowded. The bay is perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking and more. The weather is pretty shallow T the beach making it nice and safe for little kids. Easy trials good for family walks.

This campground was super picturesque, clean and affordable. My family and I spent 2 days here and the bathrooms and showers were very clean! We spent the night in their available “Mini Cabins” and they were so cool!! There are a ton of nearby trails that lead to a playground, a dog beach and even the Tawas Point Lighthouse as well! Overall a great peaceful family campground.
