Wonderful natural area, intact spruce forest as well as evidence of past burns. Surrounding meadows with some cows. Good for low key hiking, very good for birdwatching. Great camp hosts! Friendly, accommodating, and helpful.
My father used to take us here every year. I am now coming here with my nieces and their kids. It is a beautiful area with thick trees and a couple small lakes and a beautiful stream. The campground is cheap in price so I don't expect much. Some of the sites still have the wood benches from when I was a kid over 30yrs and are rotting. The campground host was very nice but only cleaned our restroom once in the 4 days we stayed. I wish the reservation site had more accurate pictures of the sites. Site 28 had alot of rocks and with 2 smaller children we had a couple of trips and falls. Lost a whole gallon of milk lol. But I love this area and although there are nicer campgrounds in the area, I love the simplicity and quietness of Winn. We will definitely be back next year.
Lovely scene. You’ll be surrounded by tall pines, young aspens and large meadows active with herds of animals. Our specific campsite had views of Mt. Baldy as well. Lots of great hiking nearby! The little toilet outhouses were kept clean, which makes a world of difference.
Beautiful campsite with wonderful hosts! The sites are spacious and far away from the main road so you don't hear any road noise. Lots of places for kids to explore or dirt road loops for them to ride their bikes. The only reason I wouldn't give this 5 stars is because the bathrooms are cramped, old, and stinky vault toilets with flies all around. We were able to have a real campfire, too!
We had a wonderful experience at this campground. The camp hosts were very friendly and pleasant. The site was very clean, even the fire ring was spotless. The pit toilets are as clean as any can be. There was also running water at each of the toilets as well. Through the treelines to the SW open into a huge clearing and was amazing for sunsets. I would highly recommend this place! The cell service is spoty but we were able to make calls and txt when needed.
