Wingate by Wyndham Eagle Vail Valley

I had a memorial to attend in Vail and this was a little out of the way but closer to my budget. I arrived late in the evening, like 11:30ish. The man at the desk was short with me, but i figured he was just tired. I got the room key, parked and headed to our room. Upon arrival, the room had a smell. The bed looked like it had been slept in and then sloppily remade. The "clean" towels were dirty/dingy. The room looked like it hadn't been cleaned. The hair dryer was broken. There was old toothpaste spatter all over the sink and mirror. After being at a memorial for a better part of the day and our late arrival, I was just too tired to go try to get a room change. Positive: The price was fair for the town it was located in - However - I've stayed in better hotels at half the price. The shower and toiletries were great. Negative: One of the room lamps didn't work, the refrigerator and AC/Heater were noisy - hard to sleep. The breakfast was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place is lousy. It has a terrible odor. Stunk at the front counter. After checking in, I walked to the hall towards the rooms. The farther I walked the horrendous odor increased. By some miracle I managed not to vomit. The room was lackluster with everything having stains and broken furniture. I highly recommend avoiding this dump. The service desk was friendly enough, but all I wanted to do was leave.

I am local and booked a room here through Expedia for my mom to come visit for her B Day. I know booking through a third party always complicates things. My mom called less than a week out from her stay wanting to stay somewhere else due to reports of black mold at this property. I hopped on Expedia's support and canceled mis reading the refund which was $0. Totally my fault. So I immediately called Expedia and explained the situation to them. They then contacted the hotel. The hotel was unwilling to un cancel my booking billing me $600 for a stay I never received even though they were contacted within 15 minutes of my cancellation with my request to un cancel. I made a reservation for two employees at this hotel for a week-long stay, as our work at the local airport frequently requires accommodations. However, after completing their tasks on the fifth day, the employees checked out early, only to be informed that they would incur charges for the entire duration of their stay due to not notifying the front desk 48 hours in advance. This policy was not clearly stated in the reservation details; while it mentioned a one-night charge for cancellations made less than 48 hours BEFORE check-in, it did not specify that an early check-out would result in being charged for two nights. Consequently, we will be seeking alternative lodging options in Eagle for future visits, as we prefer to avoid hotels with such unclear and seemingly exploitative check-out
