Wine Country Inn

This is our 3rd time staying here since 2023 and I can't imagine a better value for the money, both for the room and for the food at the Tapestry Room. These days, $180 per night won't get you a lot in most places, but here, you easily get twice that in value. First, there are the rooms themselves, which are clean and comfortable. Sure the walls are a little thin, but we always travel with a white noise machine so it's no trouble at all. Then, there's the full breakfast, with real eggs, top-quality bacon, country potatoes, multiple kinds of breads and sweets, fresh fruit, etc. I'd be happy to pay $20 per person for such a breakfast at a restaurant, and it's all included in the price. We've never eaten at Caroline's, so we can't speak to that, but dinner in the Tapestry Room would be a

The staff were friendly, breakfast plentiful and good, facilities very nice plus a comfortable bed. The EV charging station was a plus. We highly recommend the Wine Country Inn.

I can't tell you how many times we have driven past this delightfully located Inn. This year, we finally stopped in. After the first night, we knew we would come back! The reception is efficient and friendly. You get a complimentary glass of wine if you wish. I enjoy the rooms; they are not new, but very well maintained (as is the entire property) and cozy. The first time we visited, we had dinner in the adjoining restaurant. The food was good, and the service was just fine. The young men/waiters had pleasant personalities, making our evening enjoyable. I must mention, too, that the little gift store stocks a small amount of food. I tried the frozen cheesecake (homemade), and it was such a treat! A beautiful setting in the Grand Valley, with easy access to Palisade and the interstate. Food was incredible!! Even the most “simple sides, main dishes were WAY beyond expectations. The staff were so friendly, helpful and quick to offer assistance. Room was spotless, quiet and easy access to the hot tub. The wine selection was lovely and delicious! If I could give 6 stars, I would!!

My visit here was in May 25. The accommodation, facilities and the room were all good. My experience with the staff was also good with one exception. One young man working in the bar area was far more concerned with flirting with the receptionist than actually serving. This went on for some time, I wanted to pay and even approached to pay - I was ignored! We decided to eat within the bar area rather than the restaurant, which was a mistake and a shame as this was the only blemish on a very good stay. A lack of training? Poor management? Or just a rude and horny young man?
