Wind in Pines

The most wonderful place in all of Maine. We go every summer we can since 1955. It is heaven on earth. Rustic and homey. So much fun. The beach is wonderful, sandy and very safe for little ones. The water is so clean and soft.My family loves this place. An excellent place to "Unplug" and wind down. Go every chance I get!

We were invited to photograph a small Quaker wedding ceremony here at the Wind-in-Pines on Sebago Lake. The setting felt like what you might imagine as a grown-ups summer camp. Canoes, Floats, Trees, Dancing under the stars, Pie with your friends in the big meeting house... it was so fun.

We have had the pure pleasure of staying at Wind in Pines for many, many years. We truly relax in this magical place. Cabins are simple, clean, and the kayaks/canoes are fun to use. Phyllis has her Ice Cream Social every week, and the kids love it: Generations of kids! A room full of books, puzzles, and games are available on site and the renters are all very friendly. It reminds me of living in the fifties, when things were simpler, quieter and good behavior was expected by all. It all adds up to a true vacation for us. Wifi is available for all renters. We drive all the way from Virginia, so you KNOW we love it!

I know the owner Phyllis Burnham personally and she strives to make everyone's stay as comfortable as possible and will go out of her way to do so. Her cabins are fully equip with everything you need from extra blankets to a room with games, kitchen utensils and even high chairs for anything you may have forgotten. The lake is beautiful and always kept clean. She lives on the premises so ANYTHING you need day or night she is happy to help out. My husband has worked summers there since he was about 13 doing all kinds of jobs, cleaning, repairs and odd jobs. He used to open and close down the property and he knows firsthand how much Phyllis truly cares about making her visitors comfortable and happy. She is a kind and hard working woman.
