Constantly windy. Zero wind buffer in all of the area. Had I known this I would have brought a camper/trailer rather than a tent. Ground was too sandy for stability and too rocky for desired location for tent spikes, so they needed to be braced with large rocks in order to stay put. Beautiful area I'll admit but not made for roughing it. Camper/trailer only would be recommended to stay overnight in the "Willow" and "Birch," area of the park. Waterfront is nice and sandy and fun for the kids. Late May early June the water is COLD but most kids don't care. I would have given 5 stars had it been known the only area available was best suited for campers. There IS an area best suited for tents but none were available at the time... so we got the one available which has its own water and elect
Unkind camp hosts When we arrived, we were let in without issue, as our reservation had already been paid for online. We were the second vehicle on our site, which matched the 2-vehicle limit listed in our reservation. As we began setting up our tent, the camp host approached and informed us that we needed to pay an additional fee because the website was outdated. Though confused, we appreciated him taking the time to explain and told him we would go pay after finishing setting up our tent—he said that was fine, and that the office was open until 9 p.m. Not even 10 minutes later, another staff member (his wife, Debbie) approached us with a completely different tone. She was aggressive, rude, and immediately demanded to inspect our vehicle stickers (which we had). When we attempted to expl
we were there in sept, so all was quiet and clean. camp host said it is crazy in the summer. nice beach and campground, beautiful lake. can't comment on washrooms as i never used them
Beautiful beach front camping experience available for the group sites. Electric hookups for camper, lots of trees for shade and hammocks. We were disappointed at no sewer hookups, but there is a dump spot close by, it's just an inconvenience that many other sites there don't deal with for such a pricey spot. My family wanted space and reserved waterfront. It was a little misleading that the beach was not able to be reserved by saying the campsite had beach camping access. We were told the beach fills up fast so we just set up our stuff before the public gates opened and it was fine. The campsite does have some fencing, but it's not very clear to outsiders what it's purpose is. There were people parked in our campsite when we got there so we had to wait for them to all pack up before we co
We actually stayed in the Birch Campground, but it's essentially the same area. Very nice lake front spots, hookups were great. Camp hosts were nice, bathrooms were super clean! There were a lot of mosquitoes so bring your bug spray! We were eaten alive, even with consistent spraying. Also, the cows are very noisy. They were fun to observe though. Just know they will wake you up in the night!
