Customer Reviews
First time in San Saba and needed a one-night, pet friendly room, with early check in. Owner was very helpful in coordinating reservation. Pet friendly room (6) wouldn't be ready for several hours so owner granted me access to another room (3) meanwhile. The friendly housekeeper came to the door when our room was ready. The property has the old-town charm with modern updates. I enjoyed peace and quiet during our stay.
Don't usually write reviews. Sadly stay was not pleasant. We reserved room months in advance. Owner promised to take money out and confirm week prior to visit. She did not call back when she promised. Did not know if we even had a room until day of trip. The room was dusty. There were dead bugs in bathtub. No coffee maker. No working remote.
It is nothing like the pictures. AC units may or may not work. No one cleans the rooms. If they do, they should get a job. There were sheets wadded up &left on the couch when we arrived. It would serve better as apartments for people who don't mind broken furniture.
I would NOT recommend this place AT ALL!! It was an embarrassing place to bring our friends that had never been to my hometown of San Saba before. We were told and I quote "6 adults and 5 children could fit comfortably in this cottage" I would like to know how 6 adults, and 5 children could fit in 2 beds, 1 twin. And a pull out couch? The pull out couch the mattress was thin, you could feel the bars through it, the sheets had urine stains, and bug skins, there was molded coffee in the coffee pot, molded coffee grounds. Lord knows how long it had been in there, there was so much dog hair on all of the furniture. The emergency exit looked like you need emergency help if you stood on it the wood was completely rotted! The doors wouldn't stay shut when closed. Not safe for children. Cracks in
Was exactly as advertised. Room was small but comfortable, old but very clean. Eclectic decor was cool. Ac was cold and bed was soft. There was road noise but I was not bothered. Great for a one night stay. Good value.
