We only stayed one night, so can't say a whole lot, but from what we experienced, this is a nice, well kept campground. Definitely not cheap, and they don't offer any discounts, hence my one less star review rating. Not sure I'd go here to camp, but it's a great stop while traveling.
We camped here for one night traveling from the south to Acadia National Park. It was a very family friendly and welcoming campground, with a great location near the interstate. Our primitive tent site was a distance from the clean bath house but not too far to walk. The site was huge and peaceful. Would definitely stay here again. I did find out the only way to get a reservation is to call and send a check but I do not blame them for keeping it low tech. Just know that you should call and talk to them to make your reservation.
We paid cash for two nights. The next morning we were told the water was disconnected due to the end of the season. $70/night for what? Parking? Their solution was for us drive to a truck stop to cycle our water. We did, only to find out neither truck stop on the exit has a functioning dump station. The owner should have told us before we paid for 2 nights. We were disappointed.
Nice campground with great views. Clean facilities. Nice sandy beach. We normally camp near the ocean, the water here was surprisingly clean. Boys used the canoes and kayaks all day long. Fished in between. Would definitely come back.
I called and specifically stated to the manager that I was looking for a QUIET campsite. I explained that I was very sensitive to noise and he assured me the tent site was quiet. When I got there, set up, and started to try to sleep as it got dark, I noticed the terrible noise of a major Interstate highway that I failed to notice was 2200 yards away from the pond! (It is no lake, and it sure is not wilderness) They did refund my $45, but having to pack up and leave and not having a place to stay that night was a major hassle. I can't sleep with that screaming truck tire sound overpowering the nice sounds of nature, and basically, the guy lied to me, otherwise I wouldn't have gone there. Interstate 84 has a lot of 18 wheelers all night long. Some people can sleep with that noise, I
