Wild Hudson Valley

Back in 2019, I was gifted a few ginseng roots from Anna and Justin. I planted them in areas they had suggested, and then forgot about them. Imagine my surprise when in the fall of 2024 I found the plants fruiting ! They are beautiful healthy plants and I have found all the areas I planted these original roots. They have all grown flowered and set fruit. I ordered another bunch this fall and have them tucked in the soil. I will share a few pictures I am very fond of these plants.

We camped at Wild Hudson Valley and brought our own tent and took along our 5 year old. WE HAD A BLAST! What a great place to disconnect and reconnect with nature! We enjoyed exploring the trails, taking part in their tours and Friday night fire and snores. Anna and Justin are amazing, their knowledge, willingness to share their expertise, they are amazing hosts. We enjoyed soaking in the creek, looking for frogs, catching bugs and hearing owls at night. This is a great place to enjoy the outdoors and comfortable camping. As a birder, I enjoyed being able to hear and see birds, introduce my daughter to camping and nature, just a really great time, especially if you take up the offer to join the programs included in the fee. A glamping weekend with my teenage son at Wild Hudson Valley exceeded our expectations by far. The tent and beds were clean and comfy. There is a bathhouse that is way nicer than it needs to be, with clean and solid fixtures and amenities. Plenty of firewood was stacked up near our fire pit (and it was restocked during out stay), and there was a shelter with a picnic table steps from the tent, along with storage for food. We chose to order the breakfast that was delivered to our picnic tables, and so each morning started off with truly amazing baked goods from a nearby bakery -- the “bagel bombs” were da bomb! Girls Weekend Glamping & Foraging Trip at Wild Hudson Valley – Unforgettable! We had a fantastic time on this glamping and foraging experience! As first-time campers, this was the perfect introduction to the outdoors. The facilities were spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained, which made the whole trip feel easy and enjoyable. Our hosts, Anna and Justin, were absolutely wonderful — warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. The foraging walk was fascinating and full of insights, and the night walk added a magical touch to the evening. This was a truly unforgettable experience that offered a taste of nature without the stress. My wife and I had an incredible time staying at WHV for a birthday weekend camping trip. Justin and Anna are wonderful hosts that create the most welcoming atmosphere. We made connections with other campers and learned more than I ever have in any classroom during Justin’s guided nature walks. Justin and Anna are both incredibly knowledgeable about the natural world around us and the magical retreat they’ve cultivated here in the Hudson valley. 10/10 highly recommend to anyone, especially families.
