Whispering Pines Cabin by Kat

Experiencing the charm and beauty of Mt. Ida and the Ouachita Mountains is a must. The history of this region can be felt as you travel through the spectacular forests and crystal clear waters of Arkansas. My husband and I spent a week at Whispering Pines Cabins. Prior to our stay our host Kat sent us great information of the area, local restaurants and hot spots we might enjoy. She was so generous with her time and knowledge and the cabin is immaculate! There is so much to do in this quaint historic town. Kat has several guide books, maps and pamphlets to help you find your perfect vacation while at the cabin. My Best Friend and I stayed in this wonderful cozy cabin 09/6-09/10 which had everything we needed for the 4 days that we stayed. We absolutely loved the feel of the cabin. The sitting area outside the cabin was shaded with tall pines. There were 2 hammocks available to lounge in, a seating area as well as a fire pit with seating. The cabin had games such as cornhole, dominoes, cards and board games. There is a trail just behind the cabin that is clearly marked which led down to the river that was awesome. The sounds at the river was so serene and the different rock finds were great. There was a wash bay to clean our finds from our crystal digging adventures as well as the river. What an amazing little cabin! It is small but has a lot of country charm. It is very close to Mt Ida, rock shops and crystal digging. Very clean and comfortable for that perfect getaway. The bed was very comfortable and the same could be said for the loft beds. A creek is not more than a couple minutes of a hike to, and who doesn’t like to hear that bubbling brook sound. Very calming and relaxing. Wish we would have had more time to sit and watch as trout swam by. The water was crystal clear. They had plenty of outdoor seating, grill, fire pit and hammocks. There is a grocery store just down the road in Mt Ida and a great little diner with very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend for any couple or a small family.

Cozy cabin and was a great decision by the family for stay to mine for Crystals. Just the right size for the 4 of us. Clean and well furnished for you. Wife and daughter loved the decorations. Kat emailed all we needed for the stay, and can't wait to get back for another stay.

Lovely little cabin by the woods. The host, Kat, is really friendly and helpful. The creek behind the cabin is amazing and very peaceful.
