We loved our stay at Whale Watch Inn! Having a room with a kitchen was really helpful and it was fully stocked with cutlery, dishes, and cooking wear. We had a great view of the ocean from our balcony. The bathroom has a big jacuzzi tub which was incredible. Our room was comfortable and clean with a great fireplace. Everything has a retro style and is well maintained. The room had many windows so we got to wake up with the sunrise which was lovely! This hotel has a private beach access with steep steps down to the coast. Being able to walk to the water was so special and is a good spot to view tide pools when the tide is low (be careful on slippery rocks and DONT TOUCH THE WILDLIFE!). The hotel also has a lovely community room with another coffeemaker, games, and most importantly, a fan
Is the Whale Watch Inn still open?|| On 20 July 2025 I received an e‑mail from the indomitable Miren, answering a message I'd sent a couple days earlier about making an accommodation reservation; her response was a very complete and informative, and confirmed that they had rooms available for the August dates I'd proposed.|| A couple days later I answered some questions she'd asked, and tried to complete the reservation by e‑mail, but did not receive a response.|| Since then I have tried multiple e‑mails and telephone calls.|The e‑mails are not returned.|The phone calls are forwarded to an automatic voice message system, where I am informed that that San Francisco (central) wireless number “… is not available.” I’ve left several messages on that system, but the calls are also not returne
We had a relaxing two days at this beautiful bed and breakfast. The owner, Miren made sure all our needs were met the whole time we were here. She is an amazing person and a wonderful cook. We had a fresh gourmet breakfast delivered to our room both mornings. Hot tub and fireplace in the room was a nice touch that added to our relaxing and romantic stay. The views from everywhere on the property were spectacular. We loved the large whale watching room which has a large fireplace in the middle of the room, windows with a 180° view of the ocean, seating for at least 20 people and as an added bonus, a nice reclining massage chair where I spent hours relaxing on. Overall, I would highly recommend the Whale Watch Inn and we will definitely be back. Tip: book directly through hotel to take a
As I write this, I'm sitting on my private balcony, the sun on my face, watching the ocean and listening to waves breaking...one of the most relaxing stays ever... The weather has been outstanding, just like our views and time here. Miren has lived up to all the nice comments about her. She most definitely has the gift of hospitality... something not often found, but delightful when you do find it! You can tell she sincerely wants her guests to have the best time possible. Our room (the Swan) is clean yet homey and the enjoyment of a real fireplace with wood delivered daily was "icing on the cake". We loved it here and would love to have a repeat visit! Thank You Miren...Gratefully, Paul & Brenda 💕💕
We had a relaxing peaceful stay at the Whale Watch Inn! The room we stayed in was the Heart Song Suite. The room has a back deck that included a hot tub. We stayed toward the end of September for our anniversary. The nights were cool enough to light the fireplace inside the room and the wood was provided each day outside our front door. The room also came with a full breakfast that we really enjoyed, it was so good! We enjoyed the view of the ocean from the back deck where we could hear the waves crashing in to the shore and at night we looked up at the sky full of stars while relaxing in the hot tub. It was pretty awesome! The host Marin was very accommodating and so nice to talk to. She showed us around the grounds and the community room which has a beautiful panoramic view of the ocean
