West Branch State Park Campground

Stayed here over Labor Day weekend 2025 and it was great. We are a full-time RV family, and it was awesome seeing so many families spending quality time together enjoying the outdoors and each other. Like most holiday weekends, campgrounds can get quite unruly and loud, but we don't mind. This campground has enough space between most sites that whatever your neighbors may be doing, don't both you. We stayed in a FHU site and everything worked flawlessly. The sewer hookup was flush with the ground which makes hooking our hoses up a breeze and our black/gray water always flowed the way it should. It might sound weird, but many of the campgrounds we stay at have raised sewer connections making it difficult to get the correct pitch on the hoses. With that said, here is our list of Pro's

I stayed at the park for two nights. The first night was at spot 42 which was right next to a shower house. This spot was on top of another camp site and I didn’t find a good spot for a tent. The second night I stayed at 160 which was a little bit away from the shower house. The camp sight was very large and my neighbor made some good recommendations. In the morning I realized the foot print extended further with the fire ring and table by the water. There is water access. I would recommend 160 over 42

Our favorite campground! Clean facilities, very nice & spacious sites.

This State Park is on the larger side and is really nice. We stayed on Site 82. The spot seemed small at first glance but has a huge area behind your parking spot for tents, canopies, and a fire! There is a small trail behind the site that takes you right up to the restrooms/shower house. We had friends on the site to our left and a small trail connected them. The area outside your camper door is small but manageable. We stayed here June 28 through July 2nd and the little gnat bugs were pretty bad. I would recommend a fan blowing to prevent them from coming in your camper/tent. The bathrooms do have a laundry facility. The campground boat launch area was well kept and there is a dog park at the entrance with separate fenced in areas for large and small dogs, it even offers your pet its own

Have only camped for 1 night at a time(several times) as it is a good place to stop on our travels between Michigan and Virginia. Camp sites have always been nice sized and moderately wooded which is the way I like it.
