Wedgewood Motor Inn

I was so happy to see that some effort has been put into the Wedgewood. New flooring , furniture and bedding were most welcomed! I don't want to be critical of a motel that gave me a room for 2 nights at the last min and kept me from having to stay in godawful old barracks. Yes Blackstone is adjacent to a large military training post , Ft Pickett. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Work still needs to be done on house keeping. Ya got step it up to the next level. Start using BLEACH when you wash the towels and bedding. The price was well under 100.00 and the location couldn't be better as you can (and should ) easily walk to nearby restaurants and bar. TV worked well, cell signal is 5 bars. I will be staying there again.

This hotel was the only hotel to pop up on my defense travel account so I booked it. ||Where do I start?||Disgusting. The first thing we saw were the oil soaked head stains on the chairs in the lobby. ||Dirt and liquid stains on the bathroom walls, bugs and dust everywhere. My room had not seen a deep cleaning in quite some time. There is no pride in the way these rooms are kept. They need paint and updating. The front door was rickety and had large gaps at the bottom allowing all sorts of critters to come in. I had to put the fridge outside to defrost it so I could use it and found long hair inside the refrigerator. The chairs in my room need to be thrown out. They are absolutely disgusting. This motel has clearly had a fantastic renovation—new flooring, updated furniture, paint, comfortable beds and more made our stay very pleasant. The location was also a plus, with some delicious dining options just a short walk away. Overall, great value for the price!

I want to first acknowledge that I fully understand the motel is old. Due to a family member passing and her funeral we traveled to Blackstone. The motel was conveniently located. I wish I had known the horrible conditions as I definitely would not stay there. The room was filthy. The shower curtain had mold and the walls- throughout the room were stained and dirty. The coffee pot was extremely nasty - where is the health department???

Stayed 4 nights and they only came to take out the trash once out of the 4 nights, they didn’t even cleaned or do the bed while I was at work, but yet some of my things were moved idk why if they didn’t clean, In room 114 has rats and roaches and room 115 has roaches and bed bugs, I’m guessing it’s like that with all the rooms. The owner is disrespectful getting me in trouble for having a bigger bag so I can put my trash in since they don’t take out the trash.
