The Inn at Blackstone

Choosing The Inn at Blackstone as our wedding venue was truly one of the best decisions we made. I grew up in Blackstone, so I already had a connection to the property before it became the gorgeous hotel and event space it is today. Even so, I wasn’t sure a small-town venue could compete with some of the Richmond locations we toured — but we were completely blown away. The Inn is absolutely magical! We instantly fell in love with its blend of historic charm and modern elegance. After seeing iconic spots like the grand front steps, the romantic courtyard, and the magnificent tree on the grounds (lovingly known as Sir James), we knew without a doubt that this was where we wanted to get married. As a homeschooling mom of 4, I took my girls to stay for a night to experience the history and let them enjoy themselves as there is advertised to have a heated indoor pool. The pool is indoor, however it is NOT “heated”. Absolutely below 70, probably in the mid 60s or lower. So cold that my girls lips turned blue within 1-3 minutes tops and couldn’t swim. Piece of poorly “fixed” concrete broke as my 3 year old was walking could have resulted in a fall, visible black mold/mildew around the pool as well as the bottom having visible green algae growth. Our room phone did not work at all, no calling room service if you need something, poorly stocked room dishes. Great stay. Very comfortable room and bed. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice. The complimentary breakfast of cereals, bacon, potatoes, bagels, breads and waffles were excellent. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Blackstone is my hometown. It's nice to get back home about once a year and stay here. This Inn has been transformed from the 1894-built school for girls. I love that they have beautiful pictures of the grounds on the interior walls. As well, it is quiet, comfortable, and clean. The refrigerator cooler in the lobby is well-stocked with a variety of foods and beverages for a quick meal if needed. The coffee in the lobby is good and available 24 hours. I used the fitness room. It is well-equipped. I was able to do my usual workout. I didn't use the pool nor lounging areas but they look nice. The breakfast was just basic, no oatmeal and no non-pork meat options. This place is AMAZING. We stayed on 10/3 & 10/4 for my daughter’s wedding and it was beyond perfect. The breakfast was delicious and the staff is top tier. My daughters wedding venue had been double booked which was very stressful and the manager at then Inn went ABOVE ABD BEYOND to make sure my daughters wedding was still everything she wanted and more. They had NOTHING to do with the venue mishap but they still wanted to make sure he weekend was special. They allowed her to use their bridal suite for her and her bridal party to get ready and made her feel like a princess. We will never forget their kindness and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking in the area! Very clean and nice building. 100 out of 10 starts ❤️
