Wagontire RV Park

I stayed in this RV park in July of 2024. I had the whole campground to myself. All the sites are pull-through with full hookups. Many of the sites have 50amp service, and they all had 30amp. The price to was very low. There are expansive views of the Oregon high desert in all directions. Highway noise at night was minimal as there isn't much traffic, especially late at night.

I can't speak for this place, but I can for the people whom I encounter, that helped me when I rolled my truck near Wagontire, in mid September in 2019, a little past 6:am. There was little to no traffic at that hour but just by chance an elderly lady driving to CA spotted what happened to me and came to my aid. There wasn't a cell signal to be had out there, so she drove off to call 911 for me. As I waited, about 6:30am a married couple of off duty EMTs who lived nearby, happened to be driving past and saw the broken fencing and my wrecked truck. They stopped, and ran up to check on me to see if I was okay. I was wearing my seatbelt and despite the look of my truck, I was only banged up a bit and had some cuts and nasty contusions to my left hand from the truck, brush and hard scrabble. M

This is the best place that saved our life!! For being out in the middle of nowhere they are some of the nicest people we've met! We blew a trailer tire and ended up stopping at Wagontire and when we pulled in we got the most amazing service anyone could ask for! They helped us with our trailer, they helped us take off/put on the new tires and allowed us to stay the night so we could continue our trip after a nice rest and great food! 🙂 They cooked us dinner and were the just the greatest people to run into! Thanks again for all the great help you amazing men offered my family!

In 2002 I stayed overnight during my bicycling trip from Atlanta (GA) to Klamath Falls (OR). The owner was (nickname) “one-eyed Jerry”. He treated me like a king. The spot was on sale that year. If the nowadays owners know him, please say hi to him. Next day I proceeded my 3500 Mi solo trip. For a Dutchman quite a challenging journey.

I've not stayed at the TV park but wanted to share my story, hope this is allowed. Most of my life my family traveled thru wagontire to get to family in California. Whether we stopped or not I always loved this little place, I would always watch for the sign that said WAGONTIRE POPULATION 2. I always thought how cool it would be to live out there. So glad to hear it's up and running again.
