WAGNER BUNKHOUSE AND CABINS

Sonia and her family have a nice thing going out here. They were very accommodating and provided me farm fresh eggs and flour when the store was closed. Nice little cabin. Very peaceful this far out in the country. It was super dark, so got to see lots of stars, constellations and planets. Great place to come get away from the hustle and bustle of life and technology. The horses are a great addition and friendly. Fed them apples and carrots. Catfishing wasn't too good, just snagged lines from lots of trees. Trout pond is closed for the season due to reconstruction. The cabins are pretty well stocked with washcloths, hand towels, towels, Dishes, silverware, pots and pans. This is our second stay at Wagner Cabins and Bunkhouses. We decided to make it an annual trip! Last year several in our party stayed at the bunkhouse on the main property. Our family brought our RV and camped. We loved the friendly welcome, clean property and all the wildlife! The bunkhouse is dated, but was VERY CLEAN, which is a win for me! This year we stayed at the cabins by the lake and one RV there too. We had a total 4 families and it was so fun to have the whole place to ourselves! The two cabins were great, clean, plenty of room to spread out and we loved the screen porch! The friendly ponies were a hoot. The lake and paddle boats got many miles this weekend. We were from Davenport NE. And We rented the building on Father’s Day weekend and when we arrived I was very disappointed that the building was in the condition it was in , first the setting was nothing like the flyer shows and no view whatsoever . It was hidden behind their home . Looking out the back windows were tall weeds and tree line. When I had asked for actual pictures ahead I got none the porch was in need of repair fixing & paint and the kitchen chairs were weak and a cracked looked dangerous , the bathroom as she even said was in disarray. Tape on floor no handles on cabinets etc. Windows you look out of are extremely hard to even see out of. They were fogged over with mineral hardness not able to see out clearly . Very nice cabins but expensive for a family for the weekend. Did not catch any fish on the pond and turtles everywhere. The front yard horses were great.

So this was amazing. Being out where the cell signal is spotty and the stars are clear is not for everyone. It is definitely for me though!
