Valley Vista Getaway – Dark Sky Observatory Retreat

My son and I had a wonderful time at the Valley Vista Getaway and Observatory! We came to New Mexico to do some deer hunting and ended up getting a special Solar Viewing and Star Party thanks to host John. It was a perfect little house for us to use as a home base while chasing Coues deer as well as visiting the Chiricahua Museum with lots of rattlesnakes on display. Cathy and John were awesome hosts and the mountains and nights skies are gorgeous. And we had quail and hares in the yard every day too. Hoping to be able to come back again in the future!!

We have stayed here for a month and have decided to stay longer because we are enjoying the facilities so much. We have an RV and have hydro, sewer and amazing wifi. Laundry facilities are also available. We are enjoying being the only RV here, it's like having a park all to yourself. The views of the mountains are 5 star and sunrises and sunsets just never fail to give us those postcard photos. There are many birding opportunities nearby and the community of Rodeo has some charming shops and cafes. The hosts are very accommodating and have made every effort possible to make our stay enjoyable. We will not hesitate to come back next year.

I come here for the night skies and they never fail to impress. Valley Vista has a small roll off roof observatory that allows you to setup your kit out of the weather and sun. But when that glorious night time sky is up you just push the roof off and start imaging in minutes. The site is clean and tidy and has all the amenities you would need. Water, Power, Sewer, and WiFi. This is one of the best RV spots in the country for astrophotography! Highly recommended.

This was my first experience renting a vacation home and it couldn't have gone better. The house was easy to find, just the right size, and very well-stocked, especially the kitchen. Loved having a porch to relax on and the night views with the endless stars were incredible. Clean, quiet, peaceful.

Had a great time at Cathy and John's. A "tiny house" with everything we needed and very comfortable.
