Turtle Beach Lodge

My last visit to the area was about 2010 and I couldn't believe how much the boat launch area had changed. I spent an enormous amount of my childhood summer's, some spring and falls in the 80s up to the late 90s with my family. The muddy brown building with a split area for BBQing and a swing and an outdoor shed a few feet away was built for Baker Manufacturing (Pineville, LA). Mr. (Jim) Baker was a great man who let his salaried employees and their families use the facilities throughout the year. I don't know who owns the property now. Per Google Maps, the area has changed some. Back in the day, there were no street signs 😆. The road was wide enough for two vehicles passing. The "sea wall" near the boat launch was nice and kept up. we stayed there this past weekend and loved the place. the boat rental prices are very reasonable compared to other places. the people there are so nice and friendly and very helpful. can't say enough good things about this place. definitely a hidden gem. we loved it so much we booked it again for labor day weekend. can't wait to go back

We have been there several times and been very happy until today. We show up at 11 ready to pull a tube for the kids and the engine is too high and only pulling at 14 mph so we bring it back and they suggest they would drop it and see if it will work so finally by 2pm the boat is ready and we pull it out, working great, after 2 hrs the power steering has completely gone out, so after over a 2 hr drive there and 2 hrs on the water the least that could of been offered was a full refund. The owner suggests to charge us a half day rate, for the tube and gas. Ok I get the gas but we had originally reserved for a full day and are on the water for two hours only because your boat breaks down and you want to charge for everything, throw us a huge attitude because you've had a long day, not to me

Turtle beach lodge is an amazing place to escape to. Me and my husband came here for the weekend. We rented the cabin and a bass boat for our stay. Mr. Branch runs the place and is wonderful. All our expectations were met and we even stayed an extra day. We will definately be coming back!

Love this place so much. We used to go there as kids, now we go there with our kids and grandchildren. Pet friendly and very nice folks. Prices are great. Leaving today to go there, can't wait for a wonderful weekend. Love turtle beach.
