Tru by Hilton Leland Wilmington

This is a new hotel in Leland, maybe a year old now. The Hotels location couldn't be better. Right off the 17, about 25 minutes from beaches. Very close to shops and restaurants. The front desk staff in the morning, were very polite and nice. The front desk person at night was not so much. Attitude, not very welcoming, didnt explain anything; when breakfast starts, what time check out is, where the elevators are located, where my room is! Lol. Just quietly pushed my hotel key card towards me. We wanted to swim but the pool was cold and looked dirty at the bottom. Room was nice, clean, beds were comfy. They have a nice pool table and a nice lounge area. Overall it was a good stay and I would stay here again.

The gym and loud hvac in the room were issues. I felt catfish by the gym, they have no weights and the layout awkward. The photo presented a well stocked gym. |The hotel staff are all excellent and friendly. This is a great group that care about your stay. Overall a great place to stay. Will return.

I think the reviews rating is dyslexic. It's more like 2.4 at best. Over a $100 a night and no microwave or coffee pot in the room. You have to go all the way down to the lobby by the front desk to share a microwave with the entire hotel. The bed linens had what appeared to be urine stains (more than one) also drooling stains on them. On top of all that...although quite time is 10 p.m. to 8 p.m. There was a man outside our bedroom window beating and scrapping a shovel on the sidewalk clearing the snow off at 10:45 p.m at night. After talking to the night manager, 2 minutes later the man was right back at it. As if to say she couldn't care less. I'll never stay here again. Don't waste your time or money.

Overall fine experience. The hotel was conveniently located and not expensive, so it worked. However, the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. There were visible urine lines down the side of the toilet in our room, the hair conditioner in the shower was completely empty, and the toiletry dispensers were odd and visibly dirty.

Positive: Hotel was average. There was excessive garbage left outside of the can by the elevators. The cleaning people never cleaned the room or emptied the trash in the room. Not really what I was expecting from a Hilton-branded hotel. Negative: ""
