Trillium

I stayed at Grandma’s Cottage in Lafarge, Wisconsin, for some quiet time alone, and it was absolutely perfect. The setting was idyllic—peaceful fields, roosters crowing, sheep and goats grazing, and even a cute pig. I spent my days reading by the fire, walking the grounds, and just unwinding. The cottage is homey, warm, and decorated so sweetly, with such attention to detail. It truly felt like stepping back in time. The resident cat, Honey, and dog, Hannah, were delightful company, and Frank, the owner, went above and beyond—bringing fresh-baked bread, muffins, jams, and farm-fresh eggs in the cutest basket. Trillium Farm is a true gem—charming, restful, and a respite from a hectic world. I can’t recommend it enough!

My family and I (4 adults + a 6 1/2 year old niece) had a wonderful stay at Hill Cottage, Trillium. Hill Cottage is a bigger cottage compared to Grandma's and was just perfect for us! The path to the cottage is beautiful and full of flowers. There's a nice, little swing on the front porch. The cottage is beautifully maintained with several small souvenirs and handmade items, giving it a very pretty look.||||The back porch has a nice sit-out table with chairs for a perfect morning breakfast or an evening cup of tea. There's also a hammock and arrangement for a barbeque in the back.||||We went on two trails in the farm; one with a nice, little stream passing through it - this was adjacent to the pond, where a couple of ducks were waddling in. We had the best time at our Book Club Retreat! We were looking for a cute, quiet, cottage feel and we were met with that and more! The hosts greeted us as we arrived, they provided farm fresh eggs, homemade bread, homemade scones and muffins and homemade jam. The cottage was beautiful and comfortable. The outdoor seating and walking paths were shaded and the sound of nature being all you heard made it easy to spend our time outside. It felt like home away from home. The cat Honey and dog Hannah were the perfect additional friends while we were there. I highly recommend Trillium, Hill House, for your stay. We will definitely be coming back in the future. Great location with scenic drives in every direction. Amish food available at roadside stands. Woodworking also available. Multiple cheese shops. They supplieda breakfast of bread,jelly and uncooked farm eggs. Picked up cheese and sausage from Old Country for dinner. Honey and Hannah stop by for petting. Great hiking and fishing. The only downside was The bedding smelled of mildew and the mattress caved in the center so that my wife and I were entangled, not in a good way. Service was excellent. FYI: no TV

First visit to Trillium was in 1993, returned again this past weekend. Just as beautiful as I remember. Wonderful hosts. Loved the farm, beautiful and serene. The farm fresh eggs and fresh pastries delivered to the cottage were amazing! Hannah the resident dog was a wonderful guide on our walks and along with the cats made us feel loved during our stay. We were greeted each am to the sound of chickens rustling in the leaves, cats purring and roosters crowing. Doesn’t get better then that. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We will return. The pumpkin scones may have been the most delicious pastry I’ve ever had.
