Treehouse of the August Moon

One of the most special places we’ve ever stayed. The treehouse is cozy, full of character, and sits beside a gorgeous river that adds the most peaceful soundtrack to your stay. We loved playing the piano, exploring the incredible tape and CD collection, and feeling the care and love that’s been poured into this home over the years. It’s the kind of place that stays with you, thoughtful, creative, and full of heart.

There are not enough adjectives to describe Treehouse so I'll use my top 3: Oasis. Serene. Peaceful. My husband and I spent 5 days roaming around Ulster County & coming back to Treehouse every afternoon felt like home. Barbara has appointed the space with everything you'll need regardless of how long you stay. Truly loved it & we're already planning our next visit.

Had the most wonderful time at Treehouse of the August Moon. Deeply inspiring- surrounded by woods, trails, humming birds, and the rushing water of Rondout Creek. Tranquil, private and incredibly beautiful, with floor to ceiling sliding screened windows, by which one can peacefully enjoy the great outdoors before even stepping foot outside the cottage. The Mason and Hamlin model A grand piano plays like a dream, and there are baskets of books of wonderful music to delve into. The charming town of Rosendale is a 15 min hike or 5 minute drive - local eats like the Alternative Baker, the Big Cheese, Soy, and Spy Eatery in High Falls are fantastic. The treehouse is a beautiful place to stay. We stayed there during our wedding weekend in rosendale and it was the perfect hideaway for us. The home itself is a work of art. From the wraparound deck to the Japanese style sliding shutter doors; it is serene and peaceful. Barbara is so nice and quick to respond to any questions we had. We will definitely stay again!

Lovely cottage located in the middle of a forest. So peaceful…loved the sounds of the creek and the chirping of the birds. Treehouse of the August Moon is situated right by the entrance to the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail for great hiking and biking and surrounded by delicious restaurants and cool cideries. This was my second visit and I will certainly be back again!
