Trail Creek Cabin

XC skied into the cabin for two nights mid February. 1. Contrary to recent reviews the propane lamp works beautifully. 2. There is a mouse living in the cabin. We suspect inside the camp stove on the table. Suggest relocating and setting the trap behind the wood stove to catch the wee bastard! 3. If you skied into the cabin I would highly recommend a trail adjacent to the cabin for a 1-2 hour excursion. Proceed straight out the front door towards the barb wire fence in the nearby meadow. Ten yards from the fence look to your immediate left for a trail entering the woods …. it’s a beauty!

Beautiful Backcountry Cabin with multiple options for ingress and egress. We did a car drop and snowshoed in via trail creek trail then skied out on the bear canyon loop trail to the goose Creek trailhead. There's no water in the winter, but I'm pretty sure a creek runs past the cabin in the warmer months. The cabin sleeps 4 comfortably on bunks beds, has a fold down table, several cast iron skillets, and a small wood burning stove for heating and cooking. There is also a propane lantern but you may want to bring your own canister as you never know how much is left.

Beautiful winter excursion, so close to Bozeman but still feels like you're in the wild! The hike in was totally doable for a couple of people from the prairie 🏔️🏔️

Visited early October, cozy cabin with lots of pots. Super easy hike to cabin & lovely sights!

Beautiful, quaint cabin in the middle of nowhere that is definitely worth the short hike. A great escape from civilization!
